We Are Protestant – Celebrating the Reformation at 500

October 1, 2017 – November 19, 2017

On October 31, 1517, an Augustinian Monk named Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses on the doors of the Wittenberg Church in Germany. That day escalated the Protestant Reformation. The main cry of the Reformation was ad fontes – back to the source, back to the Bible, back to the Faith once delivered. Five essential doctrines encapsulate the Protestant Reformation, and during October we will look at all five. Sola Scriptura – Scripture Alone. Solus Christus – Christ alone. Sola Gratia – Grace Alone. Sola Fide – Faith Alone. Soli Deo Gloria – Glory to God Alone. These 5 Solas define the gospel of grace. We are protestant. The Reformation continues. Come along as we see these 5 core doctrines in the writings of Peter.

We discovered, as we celebrated each night, the truly awesome significance of the holiest of weeks.
The Focused Church

The Focused Church

January, 2015
American culture is becoming increasingly secular. The sun is setting on what was once a Christian culture in our time. In the midst of it all, we as believers have our assurance that the gospel is increasing and bearing fruit all over the world. God has entrusted His church, the display of His glory, to share the life changing message of hope in Jesus to the world. We do this in all times in all places with the changeless message of “Jesus Saves.” Come and see how a specific church in a particular place (Oxford Baptist in Oxford, GA) learns from Scripture how to impact culture and make disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ through keeping their focus on the Cross of Christ.
