Ensuring the Progress of the Gospel
    1 Timothy 3:8-13
God, in caring for His church, appoints two offices with Spirit-filled men to lead the church. Those two offices are pastor/elder and deacon. What is a deacon? What are their roles and responsibilities? Can women be deacons? From this text we learn that deacons are those servants in the church that ensure the progress of the gospel. We invite you to listen and learn the biblical role of a deacon.

    Entrusted With God’s Flock
    1 Peter 5:1-5
God calls Himself the shepherd of His people. This pictures Him as loving, caring, correcting, and providing for those who belong to Him. In order to better care for His flock, He appoints some sheep to serve as shepherds under Him. We call these sheep leading sheep, pastors. From 1 Peter, we are encouraged by understanding the role of a pastor as he shepherds and cares for the sheep of God's pasture.

    Putting Things In Order
    Titus 1:5-9
Life is much better with order. One could even say that life is not possible without order. God is a God of order and has placed a certain order for how we worship as His body, the Church. Though we must confess that the Bible is not a manual for the ordering of a worship service, we can take clues from the text of Scripture and arrange our order with conviction. In Titus, Paul instructs a young apostolic representative to put things into order at a young church in Crete. First on Paul's list is the charge to appoint able men to lead the church called elders.

    No Higher Calling
    1 Timothy 3:1-7
Luther said, "If I could today become a king or emperor, I would not give up my office as preacher." God, in His wisdom and grace, appoints men to lead the church. These are not just any men, these are men who have been and are being transformed by the grace of Jesus Christ. These are men who are vehemently pursuing Christ and are being transformed into His image. As they pursue the One who has pursued them they encourage others to join them in their pursuit. Come and join us as we look to Scripture to understand the office of pastor.

Male and Female He Created Them
    1 Samuel 25
What does the Bible have to say about masculinity and femininity? In the beginning, scripture says that God created man and woman both in the image of God. Men and women are equal, yet different. Scripture always celebrates the difference and so should we. With an example from the life of David, we learn how men and women should interact with one another in light of God's creative order.

Esteeming God's Standard Over All Others
    1 Timothy 2:8-15
God's ways are the best ways. We can say that God's ways are the best ways but unless we put to practice His ways we really don't believe that His ways are best. His ways often times means that the world will look at us strange, but for us who esteem His ways above all others the world's esteem of us does not matter. The reason the approval of the world does not matter is that we realize and know that we have the greatest treasure; we have the affection of God. Join us as our Pastor encourages us to take apply the truth of God's Word to our lives.

    The Gospel for Whosoever
    1 Timothy 2:1-7
Chapter 2 of First Timothy begins detailing how the church is to react in the world. Of first importance is the church's responsibility to pray for all people. In praying, the body of Christ shows its dependence on God as well as its desire for people to come to know salvation in Christ alone. Come and join us as our Pastor shows us our responsibility to proclaim God's good news to all people.
